-comment on blogs in the same niche as the blog you want to build
-link to bloggers in your same niche (it will show up in their trackbacks/pingbacks or otherwise
-guest blog on bigger blogs in the niche you want to do well in
-find a forum/community/newsgroup/email list in your niche, join it and get active
-facebook, twitter, pownce, etc are all great ways to promote your best posts

People will slowly find your blog through great content, search engines, links, and your interactions with people outside your blog.</description>
